Introducing the newest member of our family.

I would like to take a moment to introduce you to Jack, nickname: Dragon.
Yes, Jack recently became the proud owner of a bearded dragon, that he named Jack. If you ask Jack the boy the name of his lizard, he always answers "Jack and his nickname is Dragon"

We have actually been discussing adding a bearded dragon to our family for over a year now. Originally he was supposed to be a 5 year birthday gift, but we moved 2 weeks after Jack the boy turned 5 and that just isn't the best time to bring lizards to the mix. We were at Petco the other day to pick up crickets for my dad's tree frogs (we like animals round these parts...) and made the obligatory stop by the reptiles and while looking at the bearded dragons, one of them picked up his hand as if he was waving at us! I was so amused I mentioned that if we ready to buy one, he would be it. My mom apparently was also amused because she offered to split the cost of everything. and that is how we came home with Jack the dragon. I must admit, we are all pretty smitten.

Jack the boy is doing a great job so far making sure that Jack the dragon is given a lot of attention and is fed. He gets a kick out of feeding him the crickets, and boy is that little lizard fast! Thankfully as he gets older he will be less dependent on crickets and will enjoy a diet full of vegetables and fruit.

He is actually in a different cage than this now.

I don't have any pictures of Ava and the lizard other than the one of her holding him because she is to erratic to take my attention off her long enough to take a picture. She is so interested in him (or her, we really wont know until Jack is older) and wants to hold him, and touch him but sometimes she squeezes and other times she jerks her hand back very quickly, laughing and squealing.
