We got up and I just immediately started cleaning the upstairs and eventually the downstairs. It is cloudy and gray still this morning, and it is much more relaxing to lazy about in a clean house.
Okay, and on to the actual point of this post!
Another 30 days mind and body was started up on the 15th (which was my 5 year anniversary!) and I am also part of a group called hoop 30 which focuses on hooping everyday for 30 minutes. I am so inspired this time around, I pick up my hoop and give it a spin every time I walk by it. The ladies in the hoop 30 group are so amazing and they just radiate energy! I am loving it.
So for the body part of the 30 day challenge, I am, obviously, hooping everyday. I actually started the second week of August, and I am already doing things with the hoop that I couldn't before august. I have learned how to hip hoop and knee hoop. Not just knee hoop, but hoop using only one knee! I have finally figured out how to bring the hoop from over my head to my waist without dropping it or having it stop spinning. I get better and better each time I do it and it makes me feel like I can do anything.
Though learning all these new tricks is not without a few bruises!
I am hoping that I might find sometime to practice yoga as well, but Ava doesn't make that easy at all. S we shall see!
I am also aiming to eat more whole foods and this morning after cleaning I made some barley with spiced apples. It was delicious, and why should oatmeal have all the breakfast fun.
Mind: I am making an effort to read everyday as well. Right now I am reading the Aurora Teagarden Mystery series from Charlaine Harris (who also wrote the Sookie Stackhouse series). I love it. It is so easy to read and very entertaining. Perfect for pleasure reading.
I am also reading the The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind and Buddhism for Mothers of Young Children: Becoming a Mindful Parent
I really need to work on my patience, right now I have very little. I am not really even sure why, but it is something I really need to work on. My guess is it is probably related to my lack of sleep.

Yaaaay for hooping! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you look awesome hooping! Does Jack do it with you? I remember when I first read your blog, you were pregnant with Ava and still hooping!
ReplyDeleteThe barley and apples look delicious. I will have to show Joel- I bet he would love them!
